Virtual Education Resources
-
Online learning and virtual instruction offer their own particular benefits and challenges. We suggest taking this Brainshark to gain tools on how to help your children learn more easily while at home. You can also access the suggestions and resources below:
- Anti-Defamation League (ADL): Online learning resources for parents, teachers, and students.
- BCPS Social Media Use Guidelines: View the Primary Social Media Use Guidelines or the Secondary Social Media Use Guidelines.
- CATCH Health at Home lessons: To help keep kids healthy and active in the midst of school closures, access CATCH's free evidence-based health, nutrition, and physical education materials. These activities require limited space and supervision, and are organized into three sections: Physical Activities, Activity Breaks and Family Health and Nutrition.
- Cyberbullying and COVID
- Family Success in Adapting to the New Normal Flyer
- Lauren's Kids and The Florida Department of Education's Digital Health & Safety Resources: During this uncertain time of school closures, childcare pressures, and increased reliance on digital devices, it is important for families to be mindful of safety. The FBI released guidance for parents to stay alert, especially when 1 in 5 children who touch a digital device will be sexually solicited online. Lauren's Kids is providing free digital lessons and activities from their Blueprint for Building Safer, Smarter Families resource for use with elementary school students.
- Mindfulness
- Rethink Ed: Offers extensive social emotional learning (SEL) resources to students, staff and parents, including lessons, trainings, mental health supports, self-assessments and additional materials.
- Second Step: Online free resources for educators and families.
