World AIDS Day, December 1st
-
(Download Adobe Acrobat Reader to view or print PDF)
Every December 1, BCPS and its partners observe World AIDS Day to raise awareness of the global impact of HIV/AIDS. An estimated 1.1 million people are living with HIV in the United States. As many as 1 in 5 people are unaware of their HIV infection. We encourage HIV testing, because finding new HIV infections means people can get lifesaving treatment and can take steps to protect their loved ones from being infected. On World AIDS Day, we pay tribute to the millions of people living with HIV/AIDS in the United States and around the world, and the millions of people who have been tested for HIV. Find a FREE testing site near you.
Use BCPS’s World AIDS Day Suggested Activities in your elementary, middle, or high school classrooms to help raise awareness now. To learn more, view the School Board of Broward County World AIDS Day Resolution.
