• Use Supplemental Arts and Sciences Program Funding at Sawgrass Nature Center!

The Sawgrass Nature Center and Wildlife Hospital is a 501c3 organization dedicated to environmental education and native wildlife rehabilitation.

The Sawgrass Nature Center and Wildlife Hospital has been offering environmental education to the community at its Coral Springs location since 2006. Nestled in Sportsplex Park in northern Broward County, Sawgrass Nature Center offers a unique immersive experience with native Florida animals through its Meet Your Wildlife Friends and other programs. Our programs can be presented at the Sawgrass Nature Center’s location where they are coupled with an onsite tour, or they can be brought to your classroom. Virtual programs are also available.

Most programs are appropriate for pre-K through high school and can be tailored to your instructional needs. Students will utilize critical thinking and practical scientific techniques to learn about the ecological jobs of animals, their habitats, and adaptations. Our interactive presentations, using live animals, specimens, and artifacts, instill a message of good stewardship and offer a fun and unique experience to get up close with Florida wildlife. Programs are presented in a covered outdoor setting with ceiling fans and rain protection. Tours, weather permitting, include an exhibit area featuring non-releasable owls, hawks, alligators, turtles, wading and song birds, snakes, and an apiary. Fieldtrips should allow at least two hours on location at the Sawgrass Nature Center.
