Physical Plant Operations Zone 3 (formerly South Area Maintenance) provides maintenance and capital support to over 100 facilities in the area of Broward County south of 595 to the county line.

Zone 3 falls under the supervision of an Area Trades Manager, supported by an Area Supervisor, SIX (6) trade foreman, and SIX (6) administrative support staff. The zone operates two shifts with approximately Eighty Eight (88) tradespeople in air conditioning, refrigeration, carpentry, electrical, electronic, fire extinguishers, exhaust fans, plumbing, painting, masonry, cafeteria equipment and laborers.

Zone 3 's night shift houses the air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical and plumbing trades, handling emergencies that may occur in the evening hours, as well as some air conditioning indoor air quality issues.
