The mission of the ESLS Secondary Department is to ensure students with disabilities receive appropriate educational services leading to increased student achievement and successful post-school outcomes. This website is designed for parents and community members to gain information on how the department supports and collaborates with schools, and how the department assists schools in providing a continuum of services and programs to meet the individual needs of students eligible for special education and related services.
ESLS Secondary staff provide supports to schools offering a continuum of special education and related services for students with disabilities in middle school, high school, and technical colleges. The continuum of services is offered in a variety of settings, including general education classrooms, special programs, specialized day schools, and hospital homebound.
ESLS Secondary staff work in collaboration with other district departments to ensure that the district’s goals, high quality education, safe and supportive environment, and effective communication, are at the forefront of the education of students with disabilities and in accordance to students Individual Educational Plan (IEP).
