Dear Broward County families, students, and staff,
I’m honored to welcome you to the start of the 2023-2024 school year!
We’re starting this year off right with a new superintendent and a determination to make sure Broward students receive the highest quality education possible. This year, I’ll also continue to fight for competitive salaries for our teachers and school leaders.
We have a plan to get teachers to $80,000 in pay (equal to $100,000 in total compensation) and get Principals and Assistant Principals to $120,000 (equal to $150,000 in total compensation) by 2025! Wow! Before we can start on this path, however, we need to hear from YOU.
Our next public hearing is September 12, 2023 at 5 pm. There, we’ll hear from the community about any final changes prior to submitting it to the state. I invite you to join us and let us know what BCPS budget priorities should be!
