The Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) has moving to a new applicant system. All Florida educator certificate applicants will need to create a profile in the new system in order to submit requests for evaluations for new certificates, renewals, and additions regardless of whether you have a profile in the current FLDOE system. The new FLDOE system will enable Florida educator certificate holders and applicants to apply for evaluations, renewals, and additions online. Payment will still be made online through this web site (see payment button at bottom of page) for all application transactions.
Step 1: Apply online to the Florida Department of Education.
Step 2: Print the application confirmation page upon completion.
Step 3: Pay the fee for your renewal or subject addition via the district website by selecting the red pay online button at the bottom of this page. Note: American Express, MasterCard, and VISA are the only acceptable forms of payment
Step 4: Once payment is complete, print the payment confirmation page and attach to your renewal or subject addition application confirmation. Include any official transcripts if using college courses to renew. Note: if you are using in-service points to renew your certificate or are using points to add the ESOL, Gifted, or Reading Endorsement to your certificate, do NOT attach a copy of your My Learning Plan in-service record.
Step 5: Submit both confirmation pages (write your personnel number on each page) and any official documentation, if applicable, and to the Talent Acquisition & Operations (Instructional) Department via interoffice mail or by U.S. Postal Service to: Broward County Public Schools, Attn: TAO (Instructional), 600 SE 3rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.
Please allow 6-8 weeks for processing. You will receive an email notification from the Florida Department of Education that your certificate has been issued and is available for you to download.
