The Compensation & HRIS department helps develop compensation practices and establish compensation guidelines that ensure fair and equitable pay structures for all employees throughout Broward County Public Schools (BCPS). We also provide assistance with analyzing and evaluating job descriptions that support the attraction and retention of highly qualified employees. BCPS job descriptions are conveniently located on our website, accessible to both employees and visitors.
We are also responsible for administering and/or processing:
- Develop and maintain the Employee Salary Handbook for Meet & Confer Groups (ESMAB, BPAA & COPA)
- Evaluate position descriptions in order to determine appropriate job title, pay grade/ban level and FLSA exemption status
- Participate in and analyze salary survey data
- Maintain salary grade and pay ranges for all employee groups
- Conduct summarize and present findings on pay trends in support of the annual salary planning process
- Promote external competitiveness of pay
- Promote internal pay equity
- Provide support for bargaining contract negotiations
- Provide consultation and research for compliance matters pertaining to wage and hour laws
- Administer and ensure compliance with the Pay for Performance Plans for teachers & School-Based Administrators
- Administer the Sick Leave Buy Back Program
- Administer the Cell Phone Reimbursement Payments
