    Child Care Monitor I

    Qualifications:

    • Possess volunteer work, experience, and/or training working with school-age children in a group-supervision setting
    • A minimum of a standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program       
    • 2 current professional phone references (1 reference for active SBBC employee)

    Starting Hourly Rate: $15.00


    Child Care Monitor II

    Qualifications:

    • Possess a minimum of one (1) year of documented experience and/or training working in a school-based aftercare program
    • Must have completed the BASCC Comprehensive Child Care Components I and II (a certified teacher does not need to attend Component Training)
    • CPR/First Aid Certification
    • A minimum of a standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program

    Starting Hourly Rate: $17.00


    Certified Child Care Monitor

    Qualifications:

    • Resume (Required experience: a minimum of two (2) school calendar years of documented experience and/or training working with school-aged children)
    • A minimum of a standard high school diploma or satisfactory completion of an approved General Educational Development (GED) Testing Program i
    • 2 current professional phone references (1 reference for active SBBC employee)
    • Must have completed the BASCC Comprehensive Child Care Components I and II (a certified teacher does not need to attend Component Training)
    • CPR/First Aid Certification

    Starting Hourly Rate: $19.00

  • Classroom Assistant

    Under teacher direction, Classroom Assistants provide classroom support by interacting with students to assist in maintaining a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning. These positions work with students with disabilities and/or bilingual students.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Successful completion of the Teacher Assisting Curriculum Testing
    • Passing score on the Para Pro Assessment (offered at McFatter Technical Center)

    Starting Hourly Rate: $11.51

  • Clerical - Financial

    Finance-related clerical personnel perform a wide variety of financial recordkeeping duties, depending on site needs. Individuals in these positions are expected, at minimum, to have an understanding of general accounting principles and tasks.

    Bookkeeper

    Bookkeepers accumulate, record and maintain a variety of financial data to provide current and accurate information for site administration, including that of funds generated within the site. 

    Additional Qualifications: 

    • Three (3) years of professional experience in a school district or in a comparable environment.
    • A working knowledge of accounting theory and practice, clerical procedures, and routine typing skills.

    Bookkeeper/Budgetkeeper

    Bookkeepers/Budgetkeepers handle and record monetary transactions and perform diversified and involved clerical duties, while overseeing site budgets in a responsible and accurate manner.

    Additional Qualifications: 

    • Three (3) years of professional experience in a school district or in a comparable environment.
    • A working knowledge of accounting theory and practice, clerical procedures, and routine typing skills.

    Budget Support Specialist

    Budget Support Specialists assure that all budgets, internal accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll accounts are kept accurately and funds are spent properly in a responsible and accurate manner.

    Additional Qualifications: 

    • Seven (7) years of professional experience in a school district or in a comparable environment.
    • A working knowledge of accounting theory and practice, clerical procedures, and routine typing skills.
    • Must be able to analyze data and make rational decisions based on facts.

     


    Financial Systems Facilitator

    Financial Systems Facilitators facilitate the accurate reporting of financial information by providing assistance and training to school district personnel in the use and proper application of the district's financial systems as well as policies and procedures pertaining to financial management functions.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Six (6) years of experience,
    • Two (2) years experience in training/systems development functions, preferred

  • Clerical - General

    General clerical personnel provide site-based support for site processes and tasks. Individuals in these positions are expected to possess specific attributes related to their role, as well as:

    • knowledge of clerical practices and procedures, including filing, answering telephones, or utilizing standard office equipment.
    • effective organizational and time management skills.
    • the ability to communicate effectively and tactfully, both verbally and in writing.

    Administrative Support Assistant

    Administrative Support Assistants perform clerical and administrative tasks in support of the efficient and effective operations of the site.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • A minimum of one (1) year, within the last five (5) years, of clerical work experience.
    • Computer skills, as required for the position

    Clerk Typist

    Clerk Typists perform varied clerical duties and type a variety of materials in a responsible and accurate manner.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • One (1) year of clerical work experience required using typical office machines and equipment
    • Computer skills, as required for the position.
    • Must have scored a minimum of 40 wpm and 70% accuracy on the Computer Keyboard Skills Test.

    General Clerk

    General Clerks perform varied clerical work in a responsible and accurate manner.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • One (1) year of related work experience in position(s) requiring accuracy in checking, posting and counting.
    • Previous job assignments performed simple and highly repetitive duties, following defined procedures.


    Library Media Clerk

    Library Media Clerks perform clerical and administrative tasks in support of the efficient and effective operation of the media center and other office-related tasks.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Prefer one (1) year of school-based or other related work experience, which has provided knowledge of basic library practices/procedures, including the Dewey Decimal and library automation systems.
    • Work experience should have demonstrated the ability to perform multiple and diverse duties following standard practices.
    • Knowledge of library resources and databases, preferred.


    Registrar

    Registrars provide support for the registration process within their assigned school, performing a wide variety of clerical tasks, including registering students, processing and maintaining accurate records, schedules, and other forms of student data.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • A minimum of one (1) year, within the last three (3) years of related experience.
    • Effective organizational and time management skills

  • Safety & Security: Armed Safe School Officer/School Guardian

    Description: 

    Armed Safe School Officers/School Guardians are an integral member of the school’s safety and security team with specific focus on protecting the life and wellbeing of students, staff, and visitors against active threats on school property.  

    Additional Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or approved General Educational Development Program. 
    • Minimum two (2) years within the last ten (10) years experience as a sworn law enforcement or correctional officer or security guard with a valid State of Florida D and G security license 
    • Must hold a valid fire arms license issued under s. 790.06 (License to carry concealed weapon) 
    • Submit to and pass the initial drug test and subsequent random testing in accordance with s. 112.0455 and the Broward Sheriff’s office. 
    • Must be 21 years of age or older.  

    Starting Hourly Rate: $17.69/$22.79*

    *New hires will be hired at $17.69 hourly and will advance to $22.79 (22% salary increase) upon successful completion of new hire probation.

  • Safety & Security: Campus Monitor

    Description: 

    Campus Monitors provide for a positive, orderly, caring, reasonably safe and effective learning environment through proactive patrol and monitoring of campus buildings and reporting safety and security concerns to appropriate District personnel (Security Specialist, School Resource Officer, Area Security Manager, Principal, etc.)

    • High School Diploma or approved General Education Development Testing Program 
    • A minimum of four (4) years within the last eight (8) years of successful work experience 
    • Must be, at least, 21 years of age

  • Safety & Security: Security Specialist

    Security Specialists enhance the safety, security and level of preparedness in the work and learning environments of students, employees and visitors. They protect students, employees and visitors from harm in emergency situations, and prevent/reduce loss and damage of school property by theft and vandalism.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • A minimum of four (4) years, within the last eight (8) years, of experience in a field related to the title of the position, or four (4) years of experience as a School Campus Monitor with successful completion of a District approved security training certification program. 
    • Must be, at least, twenty-one years of age. 
    • Possess effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write reports, interview victims and witnesses, and communicate in an emergency as required for the position.
