    Becoming a Facilities Serviceperson is easy breezy!  No High School Diploma or Work Experience Required.

    Facilities Servicepersons perform semi-skilled work in heavy cleaning such as mopping, scrubbing, stripping, refinishing and other assigned duties. They maintain the cleanliness, orderliness, appearance and safe condition of schools and buildings in a responsible and accurate manner.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • Able to operate labor-saving devices, such as shampoo and scrubbing machines, wet and dry vacuums, plus other heavy labor-saving devices in schools.
    • Able to do heavy lifting, climb ladders to replace light bulbs and filters from air conditioning equipment.
    • Able to follow written and oral instructions on cleaning and equipment operation.
    • Must complete the Basic Facilities Service job-related training program, offered by Broward County Public Schools and receive a Basic Facilities Service certification within the probationary period of employment.

  • Food Service Workers

    Food Service Workers perform routine tasks necessary to prepare high-quality meals from simple to complex, adhere to food safety regulations, assist in keeping the kitchen orderly and clean, as well as, providing the utmost customer service experience for all students, faculty, and staff.

    Additional Qualifications:

    • School food service experience, preferred not mandatory
    • Cashiering experience, preferred but not mandatory
    • Two current professional phone references

    General Worker:

    Performs skilled work necessary for the preparation and service of nutritionally adequate meals. Follow daily work schedules for production, service and cleaning.

    Starting Hourly Rate: $13.00


    Cook/Baker IIB:

    Performs the duties of a General Worker and follows daily work schedules for production, service and cleaning, while also being responsible for meeting production deadlines and assuming responsibility for the quality of the products.

    Starting Hourly Rate: $13.95


    Cook/Baker IIA:

    Performs the duties of a General Worker and follows daily work schedules for production, service and cleaning, while also being responsible for meeting production deadlines and assuming responsibility for the quality of the products.

    Starting Hourly Rate: $14.32

  • Transportation: Bus Operator

    Operate a school bus, monitor student behavior and other factors necessary to safely deliver student passengers to and from school and/or special events by adhering to state laws and school district policies. 

    Additional Qualifications:  

    • Five (5) years of successful, licensed driving experience 
    • Must pass a five (5) year motor vehicle records review, outcome determined from a Transcript of Driver Record from the Department of Highway Safety (MVR).

    Starting Hourly Rate: $16.50

  • Transportation: Bus Attendant

    Description 

    To assist the bus driver in providing for the care and safety of students while being transported to and from school and/or special events. 

    Additional Qualifications:  

    • Must be at least 18 years of age.  
    • Completed application
    • Possess sensitivity to the needs and feelings of individuals requiring special care, assist physically handicapped students onto and off the bus using a hydraulic lift, and attach all required harnesses, braces, etc. for student protection.

    Starting Hourly Rate:  $15.00
