Advanced Placement At A Glance

  • Advanced Placement courses expose students to rigorous, college-level work and provide the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school.  Broward County Public Schools offers Advanced Placement courses at all high school campuses. Specific course availability varies by school site.

Cambridge At A Glance

  • The Cambridge international program is offered at all levels: Elementary, Middle and High School.  It teaches the student to become confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged. The high school Cambridge AICE courses are college level which can be applied to college credits. The AICE diploma and 100 hours of community service earns the student a full Bright Future scholarship without having to meet the minimum SAT or ACT scores. International Baccalaureate At A Glance

  • The International Baccalaureate (IB) is an internationally recognized course of study which stresses advanced standards in all subject areas. Students are offered a well-rounded education based on higher-level thinking skills, integrated curriculum, thematic units, and intercultural awareness. This unique, prestigious program challenges students to become self-directed learners and world citizens. Broward County Public Schools offers International Baccalaureate Program at four IB World high schools. Specific course availability varies by school site.

Dual Enrollment At A Glance

  • Dual Enrollment Program

    Broward County Public Schools has partnered with the following colleges and universities to provide opportunities for students to participate in college-level courses while enrolled in high school:

    • Broward College
    • University of Florida
    • Florida International University
    • Florida Atlantic University
    • Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University

     

    Admission Requirements

    Students must earn a minimum of a 3.0 unweighted Grade Point Average (GPA) in addition to passing scores on college readiness tests, such as the Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (PERT), in order to qualify for participation in dual enrollment.  However, testing and GPA requirements vary based on College/University standards.
