Do students have to sign into Office 365 to use any of the applications?
Yes, the Office license tied to a valid Broward Schools’ Active Directory account for students and signing in is required to enable students to use any of the applications.

What's my Broward Schools Active Directory (AD) username?
Your Broward Schools’ Active Directory username is your Florida Student Identification number. This is the same number that you use login to login to Virtual Counselor and GradeBook. (ex. 0612345678) If you are still unsure of your username, please contact your school to get this information.

Entering my AD username on the Microsoft Office 365 website.
When logging in through the Microsoft web site, you will have to add @my.browardschools.com to your Active Directory username.

How many devices can I run this subscription on?
Each student account supports the licensing of Office on up to five devices (Mac or PC).

What Operating Systems and devices can I install Office products on?
The Student Advantage Office install will work on Microsoft Windows 7 or greater or Mac OS X 10.6 or greater.

What are the PC Requirements for Office?
Operating System
Windows 7, Windows 8
Note: 32-bit Office can be installed on 32-bit or 64-bit operating systems and 64-bit Office can only be installed on 64-bit operating systems.
Computer and processor
1 GHZ or faster x86 or 64-bit processor with SSE2 instruction set.
Memory
1 GB RAM (32-bit)
2 GB RAM (64-bit) recommended for graphics features, Outlook Instant Search, and certain advanced functionality.
Disk space
3 gigabytes (GB)

What are the Mac requirements for Office?
Computer and processor
A Mac computer with an Intel processor.
DVD drive or connection to a local area network (if installing over a network).
Operating System
Mac OS X version 10.5.8 or later.
Memory
1 GB of RAM recommended.
Disk space
2.5 GB of available hard disk space.
HFS+ hard disk format (also known as Mac OS Extended or HFS Plus).
Monitor resolution
1280 x 768 or higher resolution monitor -
How long can a student use Office?
Students can use Office until they graduate or are no longer attending a Broward County Public School. Once they leave The District, their license will be disabled. You will be prompted to purchase Microsoft Office through a commercial or other consumer offer once disabled.

Activating and deactivating an installation on either a PC or Mac?
The details of how many copies you have installed, how many copies you have left to install, which devices you've installed Office on and the ability to deactivate installs are all located in the software portal.
If you’ve already installed Office on five computers and you want to install it on a sixth computer, you can do so by deactivating an installation on one of your current devices.

What do I do if I'm getting an error "Incorrect user ID or password?
If you see the error message below, please speak to your teacher to confirm you have the right username and have your password reset if necessary.

I'm logged in and I don't see any software to download. What happened?
Please speak with your teacher to have the issue escalated to the IT Department.
