    Mission

    The mission of the American Sign Language Club is to promote ASL with an acknowledgement and respect for Deaf culture. The goals of the ASL Club are to develop and enhance students receptive and expressive ASL skills and increase their awareness and knowledge of Deaf culture.

    Important Club Information

    Meetings are held either the second or third Thursday of the month, in room 701. (subject to change for events/planning)

    Participation: New and returning members must earn 15 club hours throughout the school year. Members can earn these hours through club meetings, club events, and school activities.

    Dues: $20 per year and this will pay for your club t-shirt. Please submit all dues to Ms. Coligan in room 701 or online at our e-store.

    Events and Activities

    The ASL club will be doing a variety of fundraiser activities/events, design our club t-shirt contest, club socials, and a Community Silent Dinner. The ASL Club will donate a percentage of our proceeds to a deaf non-profit 503(c) organization (TBD).

    Criteria for Joining

    1. GPA must be 2.0 or higher.
    2. Submit a completed application with $20 dues to Ms. Coligan in room 701 or our e-store.
    3. Commit to fundraising events – minimum of four total, for the year, equaling a minimum of one per semester.
    4. Commit to the ASL Community Silent Dinner by either ticket sales/marketing, set-up and tear down, serving, etc.
