Miami Heat Kicks Off How Low Can You Go? Competitions with Fun-Filled Events for Students

WHAT:
The Miami HEAT is putting on a sizzling pep rally for students at Driftwood Middle to kick off the How Low Can You Go? challenge, which encourages schools to reduce the amount of energy and water consumed throughout the school year.
The pep rally is being held at Driftwood Middle after the school won the 2023/24 How Low Can You Go? energy reduction challenge. Driftwood Middle saved $31,416 in energy costs by reducing the electricity used by 35% over the same 3-month period in the 2022/23 school year.
The pep rally also celebrates Green Sports Day, which helps connect environmental stewardship with athletic events. The overall goal of both events is to get students excited and energized about doing their part to protect our environment and natural resources.
