SHE Gardening Club
The SHE Garden Club provides a great way for students to learn about gardening and gain hands-on experience growing their own food, and tasting the fruits (and vegetables!) of their labor! Our students have created an Emerald Award Winning Garden as we received the NatureScape Emerald Award in the 2018-2019 school year. Students apply science knowledge as they watch plant life cycles and utilize math skills through measurements. The students will participate in The Fairchild Challenge – School Garden: Our Green Treasures. This challenge will help students develop an understanding of the interaction between plants and people. Students will plant a garden that represents the many cultures within our school and create a book explaining the unique ways in which people use those plants (food, celebrations, decorations, medicine). Students learn lessons in responsibility, communication, teamwork, and patience. The SHE Garden Club meets on Thursdays from 2:00-3:15 p.m.
