Five Star Award
The Five Star Award is presented each year to schools that have shown exemplary community involvement. The award is given by the Florida Department of Education and is the highest award a school can receive for community involvement.
In order to achieve this award, the school must meet 100% of the criteria in each of the 5 areas:
Business Partnerships
Family Involvement
Volunteers
Student Community Service
School Advisory CouncilThe school must prepare an extensive portfolio that documents and showcases achievement in each of the 5 areas. James S. Hunt has the distinction of being presented with this prestigious award for the past 10 years.
Golden School Award
James S. Hunt has been the recipient of the Golden School Award for the past thirty-four years. This award is given to schools with exemplary school volunteer programs as determined by the Florida Department of Education. James S. Hunt is so fortunate to have many, many volunteers whose dedication to our school and children enhances our learning community
