More than 40 BCPS Students Head to Tallahassee for BCPS Capitol Days
BCPS Capitol Days (formerly called Rally to Tally) is a three-day field trip to Tallahassee that gives selected Broward County Public Schools students the unique opportunity to get a first-hand look at their government at work. From March 18 –20, 2025, more than 40 high school students, representing schools from across the District, will visit the Florida Capitol during the 2025 regular legislative session.
During the 60-day legislative session, groups and organizations from around the state visit Tallahassee to advocate for their legislative initiatives. BCPS Capitol Days, organized by the BCPS Legislative Affairs Department, gives participating students an opportunity to advocate for the School District’s legislative priorities, meeting directly with legislators to share their ideas on issues that matter to them. Additionally, the students will tour the Florida Capitol and Supreme Court, meet with elected officials in the Florida Senate and House of Representatives, and sit in on legislative committee discussions.
About 200 students from high schools across the District submitted essays and video applications to earn a spot in the BCPS Capitol Days field trip. Follow their journey to the state capital on “X” @browardschools.
Media note: For media interested in covering the students’ departure, their bus is scheduled to leave around 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, from the Kathleen C. Wright Administration Center located at 600 S.E. Third Ave., Fort Lauderdale.
