1,500 High School Juniors Participate in the 8^th Annual Claim Your Future Showcase
presented in partnership with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance

Approximately 1,500 high school juniors from across Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) are getting a jump start on exploring their career options as they meet face-to-face with local business leaders during the annual Claim Your Future Showcase.

The event, which is an industry-focused career fair, is a collaboration between BCPS and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance (Alliance). It takes place on Wednesday, February 19, 2024, from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise.

During the showcase, students in the District’s Career, Technical, Adult & Community Education (CTACE) programs meet with representatives from local businesses, educational institutions and partner organizations as they discover a wide range of career possibilities. They also gain knowledge about the skills needed to pursue their professional goals, hear directly from business executives during a panel discussion, learn about professionalism in the workplace and participate in mock interviews with expert interviewers.

“The Alliance is grateful to work with BCPS to again bring the Claim Your Future Showcase to our students, showcasing high-wage, high-demand careers available here in Broward County,” said Bob Swindell, President/CEO of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance. “By linking classroom learning with real-world opportunities in key industries, including tech, life sciences, aviation and marine, we're committed to keeping our local talent here and building a strong future for our community."

“The exposure and experience our students gain at the Claim Your Future Showcase helps set them up for success as they prepare to enter the Broward County workforce,” BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn. “It is truly a one-of-a-kind experience, and we are thankful to Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance and their network of business affiliates for coming together to share their time, industry knowledge and life experiences with our students.”
