BCPS Observes a Day of Service and Love on Friday, February 14, in Commemoration of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Tragedy
On Friday, February 14, 2025, Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) will observe A Day of Service and Love in commemoration of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School tragedy. Students and staff across the District will participate in a variety of volunteer and service projects in honor of the 17 students and staff who were tragically killed and those who were injured on February 14, 2018.
As part of the commemoration, at 10:17 a.m., District schools and facilities will pause for a moment of reflection in memory of the victims.
“We will forever hold in our hearts those who died and those who were injured seven years ago,” said BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn. “This day serves as a powerful reminder of the strength, resilience and compassion that binds our community and a call to action for all of us to build a future rooted in love, kindness and understanding.”
