Elementary, middle, and high school students working at their group levels in a club
  • Clubs and organizations are a great way to help develop character and the skills that will benefit you in school, your career, and in life. Skills like commitment, leadership, effective communication, and being able to work successfully in a group all come from participating in a club or organization. Joining a club is a great way to make friends, develop leadership skills, and boost your college resumé.

  • Safety Patrol

Safety patrolBecoming a Safety Patrol is an excellent opportunity to help students, parents and visitors find their way around our large HHE campus.  Our Patrols volunteer their time to “work” their post in the mornings or in the afternoons.  They are responsible students who give up a few minutes of their class time to help their school community each day. They escort new students and young Kindergarteners to their classrooms and monitor the hallway to assist anyone in need.  Safety Patrol members also hold open the entrance/exit doors while greeting you with a smile each morning or afternoon.  They help remind students to use their walking feet or inside voices while waiting for the bell to ring.  Many Patrols help in the cafeteria to keep the backpacks in order, monitor the Cafeteria line, and move the crowds through in a smooth organized fashion.

Holding one of our 70 positions here at Hollywood Hills Elementary is a very rewarding and beneficial club.  We welcome the Fifth Grade students who are interested in volunteering their time to make their school GREAT!

  • Journalism Club

HHE_JounalismHollywood Hills Elementary's Journalism Club is proud to present The Panther Post, the official school's newsletter. The club meets once a week to learn about writing different types of articles, interviewing, publishing a school newspaper, and using social media to share school news. The Panther Post has its own website, Twitter account, Facebook page, and published newspaper. Students have written news, features, opinions, and entertainment articles. Each club member has a press pass which is worn when they are covering an event on campus. Our club members are practicing their listening and speaking skills by interviewing adults and other students. With deadlines given, they are learning responsibility and being held accountable. They are learning the importance of editing and rewriting to make sure that what they write is appropriate for elementary students and the Hollywood community. Articles include information about our PTA fundraisers, grade level and school-wide events, featured staff members, book reviews, and more.

  • Hollywood Hill Elementary' s Morning News Production

WHHE Studio WHHE is Hollywood Hill Elementary' s morning news production. This production is performed and carried out by our many talented 5th graders. Each year a limited amount of 5th graders are chosen for their high level of leadership, reading abilities, showmanship, and responsibility to carry out the great duty of bringing the news to each of our students and staff across the school.

  • Student Council

Student CouncilHHE Student Council Class Representatives are chosen by their peers in their individual classrooms. Fifth Grade Students are given an opportunity to campaign for the Officer positions on the Student Council. Once an election is held and the Student Council President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer are chosen, fifth-grade students then elect the class Student Council Representatives. Some of the community service projects the Student Council has participated in are Food Drive for Thanksgiving, a school-wide Recycling Program, picture books for new mothers at Memorial Hospital, a school-wide cleanup day to celebrate Earth Day, and the Honor Flight, in which Student Council raises money to send World War II and Vietnam War veterans to Washington DC to see the memorials in their honor. This year Student Council raised $1300.
