News Crew

The NSE News Crew includes several student news anchors and interns who are skilled readers. Each morning, students gather in the NSE broadcasting room to pre-record an informational segment that is broadcast over North Side Elementary's Stream View Channel. Students are exposed to different forms of technology including an iPad, green screen, and video editing effects. 

Anchors must read a script from the teleprompter including segments such as the Pledge of Allegiance, the North Side Stars Pledge, the daily breakfast and lunch menu, and other daily announcements. Students who become reporters often polish their public speaking skills. Though it takes practice, students who participate in the NSE News Crew often leave elementary school with rich communication abilities and gained self-confidence.
