Can I apply to BOTH the Marine Science AND iCAN programs?
No, when submitting your application, you will be required to choose just one program.

When will I find out about my child's magnet application status?
The District will make the first contact after the lottery selection process is complete. Be sure to monitor your email. Notifications typically take place in Mid-March. You will then need to accept your seat & submit the necessary paperwork before the indicated deadline.

How are the students selected for spots in a particular program?
If more applications are submitted than allotted District spaces for our out of boundary students, the Office of School Choice will conduct a lottery selection process for the available seats.

How do I apply if I am In-boundary for New River?
All In boundary students (and both out-of-boundary & in-boundary marine science students) are a part of our iCAN program. You would only need to complete the School Choice application if you are an out-of-boundary student, seeking a seat at New River.
