- Meet the Administrators

The Administrative Staff brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the students, staff, and community at Charles W. Flanagan High School.
Each Administrator is assigned to a grade level and oversees a variety of curricular areas. Additional support from our Behavior Specialists and Athletic Director allows the team to address the disciplinary and social-emotional needs of our students. The School Counselors, Social Worker, and Family Counselors meet with students and families in an effort to provide students with support beyond the classroom and putting all available resources within their arms reach.
Contact Flanagan Staff anytime if you have questions, comments, or concerns.

Greetings Falcons!
I am excited to serve as the 10th Grade Assistant Principal for 2024-2025 school year! I received both my Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree from Florida State University and served as a teacher, coach, curriculum developer, and assistant principal in Leon County Schools until my arrival to Broward County Public Schools. I am very excited about having the opportunity to serve the students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders of the Flanagan community. My educational philosophy is founded on two core tenets – Build Relationships & Remain Consistent. All of our successes as Falcons cannot occur without these two principles. I look forward to watching our students grow and become impactful participants in our ever-changing society. It is from here, in the Falcon’s Nest, that you will learn to fly and SOAR to great accomplishments in life. Let’s have a great school year and always remember to respect one another as we all navigate this journey together.

Dr. Michael Warkentien, Assistant Principal, 12th Grade
Hello Falcons,It is an honor and privilege to serve as one of your administrators. I am a proud husband and father of two boys, an avid adventurer, and have just over 20 years of experience in education as a math teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. I graduated from Piper High School, went on to Florida State University where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, and completed my Master’s and Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Florida Atlantic University. My educational philosophy is that a positive and effective learning organization is student-centered, teacher-supported, and principal-led. In addition, it is my humble belief that a holistic education should engage a student’s head, heart, and hands to provide a strong foundation for achieving their fullest potential and securing a strong future for our world. My vision centers around creating and facilitating experiences for students to grow intellectually as critical and resourceful thinkers, opportunities to sacrifice their time, talent, and treasure in service to others, and avenues to cultivate healthy bodies. Furthermore, I believe this can only be accomplished in an environment that encourages mutually respectful and trusting relationships between students, parents, community, and school staff. My mission and vocation are to bring to bear all that I have been given to accompany our students in their educational journey and I look forward to demonstrating this commitment through all the ebbs and flows this upcoming school year will undoubtedly bring.Duties and Responsibilities- Math
