  • At CPE, we recognize that our students are at different phases of development and their needs vary greatly. Our teachers focus on a specific grade level to ensure our students receive the progression skills needed to succeed.

  • Kindergarten

    Hello and welcome to online learning for Kindergarten! We are so happy that instruction is continuing during this difficult time.  During the first few weeks we will all be learning how to navigate Canvas and how online learning works.  We are doing our best to design and implement a new way of teaching and learning.  We appreciate your support and patience in helping your child through their online lessons.  Instruction will continue as planned.  In reading, we are retelling familiar stories, including key details. Two Dimensional shapes will be our math focus.  In science, we will be studying gravity.  Please continue to complete I-Ready Reading and Math lessons daily.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher.  Please stay safe and healthy!  

  • First Grade

    Week of 3/30: Welcome to online learning! First Grade Teachers are so happy that instruction is continuing during this difficult time.   Please note that it will take some time for us to master the use of online instructional technologies and models.  We are doing our best to design and implement a new way of teaching and learning.  It is our goal  to provide lessons that are reasonable and meaningful.   We appreciate your support and patience in helping your child through their online lessons.  Instruction will continue as planned.  We are  moving into the fifth reading book  (Unit 5, Lesson 21) and will be reading the story, The Garden, by Arnold Lobel.  In phonics, we will be using the /ar/ sound to read and spell words like smart, garden and car.  Measurement will be our math focus.  In science, we will be studying movement.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teacher.  We will get through this together.  Stay safe.  Stay healthy.  

  • Second Grade

      Week of 3/30: Hello Parents, guardians and students! The second grade teachers, hope you are all safe and taking all precautions to be healthy. We miss you all and look forward to begin our learning. During the first week of online learning we will all be learning to navigate Canvas while we continue with our academics. We will grow together through this process. We can do it! We will be focusing on the following Skills: Reading- Main Idea and Details, Language Art- Adjectives, Math- Review Length in Customary Units, Science- Distinguishing Body Parts, Social Studies- Geography and Maps

  • Third Grade

    • Office Hours: 12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

      Week of 3/30: In ELA third grade students will be reviewing story structure. Story structure is made up of characters, a setting, and a plot. Many events in the plot happen as a result of each character's actions. These actions in turn affect what happens next. This week we will use a historical fiction text to extend our learning about story structure. Grammar lessons will be on "Adverbs that Compare" and Base words -ed and -ing. In math, we will continue to focus on Chapter 10 Measurement. We will learning about measuring length, liquid volumes, and mass. Science will be exciting interactive lessons on StemScopes and Science A-Z lessons on Classifying Matter.

  • Fourth Grade

      Hello Students and Families,

    The 5th grade teachers hope you all are doing well, being safe, and are ready to continue learning through Canvas and Clever!

    Just a reminder, you must log off of Canvas and Clever each night. You must log on to Clever again the next day and enter Canvas through your Clever Dashboard. This is the procedure for being marked present each day.

    We would like to give a shout out to those parents and guardians that have been helping their child(ren) with the online learning as well as assisting us with feedback. We greatly appreciate all that you are doing!

    Parents, if you have not received an email from your child’s 5th grade teacher at the beginning of the online learning, it is because we do not have an email address for you or an updated one. Please take a moment to email your child’s teacher(s) with a working email address. Teacher email addresses can be found on the Home page in your child’s Canvas course(s).

    For the week of April 13th – April 17th, we will be focusing on the following: 

    Reading – Theme

    Language Arts – Perfect Verb Tenses

    Math – Metric Measures, Problem Solving with Metric and Customary Conversions, and Elapsed Time

    Science – Comparing Plant and Animal Structures, Animal Classification, and a continued review of the Solar System

    Social Studies – Current Events articles and continuing with the Westward Expansion
