Personalization for Academic and Social Learning (PASL)

  • Personalization for academic and social learning (PASL) represents a systemic, school-wide approach to meeting the academic and socio-emotional needs of high school students.  PASL refers to the ways in which Miramar High School actively encourages students to develop a sense of belonging to the school as a whole, as well as meaningful, positive connections with adults and other students. PASL is a research-based strategy to increase student connectivity to the educational environment, through building relationships to reach those students who might otherwise fall through between the cracks.

This Miramar High initiative develops and expands Personalization for Academic and Social-Emotional Learning (PASL), a systemic school-based intervention in which administrators, guidance counselors, and teachers intentionally and deliberately attend to students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs.  Want to learn more?  View this document.
