Computer Lab with Mr. Boehm
Mr. Boehm was born in New York but moved to Florida at a very young age and grew up close by in the city of Sunrise. He graduated from Mercer University in Georgia and attended Florida International University for graduate school. Mr. Boehm first got into teaching because he wanted to help students who were struggling with reading and math. For this reason, he became a special education teacher and even taught the learning club here at our school. He first got involved with computers in college. Even before Mr. Boehm became our computer lab teacher he always strived to include technology into his lessons. Mr. Boehm believes using technology is not only a great motivator for students, but preparing them to live in today's digital information age is a necessity.
Mr. Boehm has been teaching for over 25 years and has been involved in all aspects of computers in the
schools. Did you know that in addition to teaching his daily computer classes to students, he also provides tech. support and training for teachers? In addition, he is responsible for making sure all of the computers in the school are working properly, making sure the school’s network is always running, and builds and maintains the school’s website. Wow is he busy!
When our techie is not here at school, it is quite possible you will see him at Walt Disney World his favorite hangout. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife Denise, who is also a teacher. His hobbies include reading, working out, and going to the movies. Mr. Boehm dreams of winning the Florida Lottery someday. Mr. B. is interested in all things technology. In fact, one of his biggest hobbies outside of school is learning more about computers and the latest technology and gadgets. Two of his favorite inventions are the iPhone and TiVo. It is clear to see that this teacher is very excited to share his love of technology with the students of Country Isles.
Mr. Boehm encourages students to use their Country Isles PRIDE daily. In addition, he believes that the life skills of Effort, Integrity, Perseverance, Caring, and Friendship will lead to success in life and go a long way toward making the world a better place. So, if you haven’t met Mr. Boehm yet, pop in to room 202 and say hello. You’ll be glad you did!
