Dear Students, Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

Boyd H. Anderson High School administration, faculty, and staff are committed to ensuring that our students are academically challenged. We deliver personalized and global education to prepare our students for an ever-changing world. 

Our school is located in the heart of Lauderdale Lakes, Florida. We serve approximately 2300 students who have the opportunity to enroll in one of our four Magnet programs. We offer a multitude of diverse course offerings to help students become College, Career, and Life Ready (CCLR). The International Baccalaureate (IB), which houses the Middle Years Programme, the Career-related Programme, as well as the Diploma Programme. IB courses engage students in project-based learning characterized by global perspectives. Students who successfully complete the Diploma program core classes earn college credits and the possibility of earning a Bright Futures Academic Scholarship.

We also provide a Health and Wellness Program, which prepares students to receive State certification in Electrocardiogram (EKC), Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), and Personal Training. Upon graduating from high school, Health and Wellness students have the option to transition to a program that prepares them to become firefighter or paramedic. The Culinary program prepares students to gain certification in Self-Serve and Prostart, which enables students to apply for jobs in local restaurants and hotels. The Technology department offers students global skills and certification in aviation, coding, web design, Computer Science, Adobe Dreamweaver, and Digital Media using Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator. 

Students in Advancement Via Individualized Determination (AVID) receive academic and personal support to ensure their continuous improvement. Each student is academically monitored, and necessary prevention is implemented to promote learning enrichment and remediation.   

Through dual enrollment with Florida International University and Broward College presently, students can earn up to 30-college credits without having to leave the school’s campus. Yearly, the chorus, music, art, ROTC, and athletic programs produce students who earn scholarships to national colleges and universities. The faculty, staff, administrators, local businesses, and city officials work together to offer the students learning opportunities in school, as well as, off-campus. The team’s goal is to help every student graduate from high school, college, and career-ready to compete in a changing world.  

Boyd H. Anderson High is a safe school. We address issues that may seem trivial to students, such as proper dress codes. Being in class on time, ready to learn, and demonstrating respect for oneself and others are non-negotiable expectations. We have high expectations for all students, regardless of ability level. We strive to help every student embrace a demanding curriculum that “pushes the envelope”, thus preparing them for college and career. Hard work is the key to success in life. 

Finally, I value the importance of strong communication. We use our robotic telephone system, school website, Pinnacle, school correspondence, and personal contact to keep our community informed. I look forward to working with you for the 2024-2025 school year to ensure our students maximize their learning potential.
