Students Plug Into the Hour of Code! BCPS Celebrates Computer Science Education Week December 9 – 15
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is celebrating Computer Science Education (CSEd) Week December 9 – 15, 2024, and is participating in Hour of Code activities throughout the month. CSEd Week aims to inspire students to learn computer science while raising awareness about the importance of expanding access to computer science in schools.
As part of CSEd Week, students are encouraged to complete at least one hour of coding activities. This year’s Hour of Code theme is “Making the Invisible Visible.” The goal is to shed light on how things you use daily are impacted by the power of computer science, even though you may not realize it.
Hour of Code activities take place at every school in the District. Through the BCPS Applied Learning Department, schools receive glow-in-the-dark bracelets for students who complete their coding challenges. Media are invited to cover the following events:
