Special Message from Mrs. Seltzer

Dear Riverglades Families,

I want to make you aware of an event taking place on the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School campus.

As part of a civil case, a judge authorized a reenactment of the tragedy from February 14, 2018. The reenactment is a court order and is not organized by or controlled by the School District. It takes place on Friday, August 4, in the school’s 1200 building.

For communities bordering Stoneman Douglas – it may be possible to hear sounds from the reenactment, which may be unsettling. We are sharing this with you now, so you can develop a plan for this day that best suits your family’s needs.

District leadership and I understand how difficult and upsetting this event will be for our school families. Mental health resources are available at browardschools.com/mentalhealthservices.

In addition, Eagles’ Haven will be open on Friday, August 4, and throughout that weekend. Please feel free to walk in at any time. You can also reach Eagles’ Haven by phone at 954-618-0350. Free wellness classes are available, should members of your family wish to participate. See below for a list of options.
