Inspiring Students to Pursue Technology Careers in South Florida!
BCPS Gets Ready for TechGateway Day on Friday, November 8
– Media Are Invited to Cover this Event –
Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) middle and high school students in Career, Technical, Adult and Community Education (CTACE) classes learn about the many high-tech careers available here in South Florida, thanks to TechGateway Day. The annual event takes place on Friday, November 8, 2024, and is a partnership between BCPS and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance.
The TechGateway Day theme: Work in the Cloud, Live in the Sun. The event inspires students to pursue technology careers in our region by introducing them to local industry leaders and highlighting how these businesses shape the future.
This year, more than two dozen South Florida companies and organizations will visit schools across the District to speak with students. Among those participating: Ark Solvers, Inc.; Blue Frontier; Carbon Limit; Crown Castle; LAN Infotech; Microsoft; SailPlan; and many more.
Media interested in covering TechGateway Day are invited to visit Millenium 6-12 Collegiate Academy, 5803 N.W. 94th Avenue, Tamarac, Florida 33321, on Friday, November 8, from 10 – 11 a.m., as Blue Frontier leaders host a fun event for students.
In addition, as part of TechGateway Day, the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance is providing maps (pictured) for all the District’s middle and high school CTACE classes to visually showcase the many, incredible opportunities for technology careers in South Florida.
