Broward County Public Schools (BCPS) is excited to announce it’s ready to welcome students back for the 2024/25 school year. Following successful practice runs with the Transportation Department, the District’s fleet of 1,200 school buses, including 60 zero-emission electric buses, is prepared for a smooth first day of school. All buses are equipped with GPS technology for real-time tracking and emergency response.

To celebrate the start of the new school year, BCPS Superintendent Dr. Howard Hepburn will visit several schools across the District. The day will begin at the Southwest Area Transportation Terminal where Superintendent Hepburn will greet bus operators before boarding a bus to his first school visit.
"I am thrilled to welcome back our students, teachers and staff for another exciting new school year," Superintendent Howard said. "Building off the great success and momentum that got us to an “A” District, we are committed to continue providing exceptional educational experiences for all students and preparing them for future success.”
