  • Welcome to Exceptional Student Learning and Support (ESLS) at Norcrest Elementary.

Our ESLS department is here to provide assistance to children with disabilities in school. We provide services for those with Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Emotional/Behavior Disorders, Speech and/or Language Impairments, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Intellectual Disabilities, Other Health Impairments, and several more. We have a psychologist that serves our school and does the majority of the evaluations, along with qualified providers such as Speech/Language Pathologists.

Norcrest Elementary also has a special program for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. We provide the necessary interventions, accommodations, visuals, and sensory input in order to help our students learn to their potential. We have a certified Autism coach that provides assistance to students, teachers, and parents as needed. Our Autism Coach is Anthony Johns.

Finally, Norcrest houses a Preschool program for children who have been evaluated and qualify under developmentally delayed or a specific disability. This program is for children ages three to five years old. If you have concerns with your child, you can contact Child Find at 754-321-7200.
