Welcome back Driftwood Dragons! Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Deeana Pomales and it is a pleasure to serve as your math coach here at Driftwood Elementary. I have many exciting ideas and programs in place to help our boys and girls achieve great success in math this school year. This includes getting our primary grades (grades Kindergarten- 2nd grade) prepared for the 21st century through math readiness skills, creating a chess community in grades 2 and 3, participation in math district games for grades 4 and 5, and increasing math skills in all domains of math in grades K-5 through tracking and monitoring on our excellent i-ready.com and reflexmath.com programs. 

               Each year our second, third, fourth and fifth grade students participated in an inovative computer program called Reflex Math.  In the last few years, it has increase our math fluency over 70%.  This has boosted our  but our school ranked among Broward schools that participated in the reflexmath program.  Way to go Driftwood Dragons!          

             Students need to practice math daily and must be given plenty of opportunities to practice basic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

To access Reflex Math, I-ready and mya other tools use the Broward  Schools Single Sign‐on Solution. It is used  for over 40 different student applications. Students must go to sso.browardschools.com where they will be taken directly to the new Clever login page below. From this page, users will click on “Log in With Active Directory” where they will be taken to our Active Directory login page.
