K - 6 Behavior Change
-
The goal of the Behavior Change Program is to reduce disruptive behaviors in the traditional school setting by identifying functions of misbehaviors and developing specific techniques for effective management of students with behavior problems.
The program is designed for students in grades K- 6 who have previously exhibited such behavior as truancy, academic failure, problems with parents, problems with law, and involvement in disruptive behavior in the school or the community. In essence, students who are under-socialized, at-risk, and/or those who have never learned or displayed appropriate social skills and must be directly taught the appropriate behaviors.
Parents and home school officials must understand that this is a mandatory, temporary placement for the student. Students must successfully complete the the Pine Ridge Behavior Change Program to transition back to their home school.
