Croissant Park Elementary School Celebrates $50,000 STEM Donation from Chevron and Sunshine Gasoline

Croissant Park Elementary School Students, Administrators and Staff; Representatives from Chevron and Sunshine Gasoline; District Leadership; Local Officials; and Community Leaders.   

WHAT:      
Just in time for the holidays, Croissant Park Elementary is celebrating a special gift – a $50,000 grant donation from Chevron and Sunshine Gasoline. The funds will be used to create a STEM lab with new technology, adaptive furniture and materials to support project-based learning for the school’s approximately 650 students. During a special check presentation ceremony, students and administrators will showcase how the STEM donation will impact their entire school community for years to come.

WHY:
Through the enhanced STEM learning opportunities created by the $50,000 grant donation, Croissant Park Elementary students will have increased access to STEM activities that improve foundational skills including critical thinking, computational thinking and problem-solving. Chevron recognizes that supporting education — particularly in the areas of STEM, is essential to prepare students of today for the jobs of tomorrow.
