SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

WELCOME FROM YOUR PASSIONATE PRINCIPAL

Greetings Parents, Guardians and Community Members,

I am excited about the future that is being created at C. Robert Markham Elementary school. We encourage you to participate and support our efforts to prepare students for college and career success.

One way to be informed of our school’s plans for academic improvement is to attend our School Advisory Council (SAC) and School Advisory Forum (SAF) meetings each month.

Our Community Based Connections (CBC) afterschool program should get started this month. This is a free program where students receive tutoring and homework assistance. CBC will also provide mentoring, project-based learning, and club activities.

All Broward County teachers are required to meet state certifications or be in the process of completion. Included with this newsletter is a list of any staff who are currently completing state required certifications.

Have you noticed the green and white bin outside the south fence? Markham is going GREEN by partnering with Florida Textile Recycling Programs. The "Bin"efits include a recycling curriculum for the classes and no work for our staff in providing a way to support recycling. The program will donate $200 for every ton collected, which will be used for Student Incentives. So, please bring all old shoes and clothes to the bin!

If you have any additional questions, please contact our office at 754-322-6950

Sincerely,

Shedrick Dukes, Ed.S. Principal
