Clubs and organizations are a great way to help develop character and the skills that will benefit you in school, your career, and in life. Skills like commitment, leadership, effective communication, and being able to work successfully in a group all come from participating in a club or organization. Joining a club is a great way to make friends, develop leadership skills, and boost your college resumé.

Panther Prowl Run
13th Annual PANTHER PROWL RUN Fundraiser
The Sawgrass Panther Prowl race was created by Officer Ben 13 years ago. His childhood elementary school held an annual run (it was a highlight of his younger years) and he wanted to bring that magic to Sawgrass Elementary! Over time, it has become the biggest fundraiser our school has ever seen! Please help us reach our fundraising goal by supporting our KIDS. We’re raising money to fund replacing the sand on the K-2 playground with a rubberized floor.

Safety Patrols
The patrol’s job is to remind students of safety rules learned in the classroom and to guide them in safe crossing and bus passenger procedures. Patrols receive instructions in guidelines and procedures during their training and regular patrol meetings. Duties of all patrols are listed below.
- Set a good example and encourage other students to also observe safety rules at all times.
- Report for duty on time with proper equipment. Patrols will not be permitted to perform their duties if they are not wearing a patrol belt.
- Know and help enforce “fairly” all walking or bus rules and regulations.
- Report to the bus driver, patrol sponsor, administrators, and staff members assigned to a bus as needed.
- Provide other assistance to drivers or crossing guards as requested.
- Attend and participate in all patrol meetings and training sessions.
In their role of encouraging students to observe safety rules, patrols can have a significant, positive influence on their schoolmates. Patrols influence other students both formally as part of their regular duties, as well as informally because they serve as student role models of appropriate and safe behavior.

Chorus
Sawgrass Elementary invites all third, fourth and fifth grade students to audition for chorus at the beginning of every school year.
Chorus rehearsals run from August through December.
Fifth and Fourth grade rehearses are on Mondays from 2:00pm-3:00pm, and third grade rehearses are on Tuesdays from 2:00pm-3:00pm. Chorus finishes the season with a grand performance in December.
