Elementary, middle, and high school students working at their group levels in a club
  • Clubs and organizations are a great way to help develop character and the skills that will benefit you in school, your career, and in life. Skills like commitment, leadership, effective communication, and being able to work successfully in a group all come from participating in a club or organization. Joining a club is a great way to make friends, develop leadership skills, and boost your college resumé.

  • Peer Counseling

Peer Counseling is a year-long elective for 8th-grade students who are self-motivated and are disciplined to be independent learners. Our main focus is to establish Peer Tutoring and mentoring relationships with students displaying academic/social struggles.

We also participate in school-wide and community events such as Harvest Drive, toys for needy children, and Earth Day cleanup.  Also, we recycle the entire school by monitoring the recycle bins and emptying them once per week.

All Peer Counselors are required to complete quarterly projects for presentations in all grades, and therefore, must be willing to speak in front of groups.

This year our Peer Counselors will participate in "Broward 100 Celebrating the Art of Community"  through their program Inside Out.  Inside Out is a global art project that gives communities all over the world a platform to express themselves through black and white photographs. Inspired by Parisian street artist JR and his large-format street pastings, Inside Out gives everyone the opportunity to share their portrait and make a statement. Inside Out captures a collective message through headshots of individuals, which are printed on posters, pasted on public spaces and archived online, this global platform allows people to tell their untold stories and transform messages of personal identity into works of public art.  Look for our pictures posted around town!

On an annual basis, BMS SGA participates in service-based projects that are aimed at exposing our Bears to service and learning. Every year our goal is to improve the lives of our student and faculty population by implementing creative and fun ideas to make each year unforgettable!
