Principal's Message
-
It is an honor to introduce myself as the new principal of Palm Cove Elementary School. Let me start by saying how excited I am to join the Palm Cove Elementary School community. It has only been two work weeks since I joined as the principal, and I already feel at home. I'm getting to know and build relationships with our players. Everyone has been wonderful as I settle into my role here.
I come to Palm Cove Elementary school with 14 years of administration experience. Ten years as a principal and 4 years as an assistant principal. Therefore, I bring a plethora of experiences to Palm Cove Elementary. As families get to know me, you will learn that my top priorities for any school I serve is Safety and Security, Student Achievement, and Social and Emotional Support. Those are the essential areas to ensure a successful school environment. Over the last two weeks, I spent time observing processes, procedures, and safety measures. Due to some of my observations, unfortunately, there will be some necessary changes that I must make for the safety of your children and our school. One change I am putting in place immediately is for parents to stay in their cars during arrival and dismissal. We will have staff and or Safety Patrols in place to escort younger players to the front gate of our school. Additionally, cones will be in place that will mark the end of where parents can walk onto campus. Furthermore, please remember that school starts at 8:00 a.m. If a student is late, the parent will need to park and walk to the front office to sign in the student. Lastly, school ends at 2:00pm and staff begins their professional developments, team meetings, and planning promptly at 2:15pm, so please make arrangements to pick students up on time. Please keep in mind that all procedures in place are to keep our school and students safe. I understand that change is not easy, but sometimes necessary for the good of everyone. I will always stand on the side of safety when it comes to our children.
Your assistance and support is very much appreciated. Please remember that my goal is and will always be to help teachers and students reach their fullest potential.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Tanya Jose, my Office Manager and Confidential Secretary, at (754) 323-6800 to schedule a meeting.
Educationally Yours,
Vonda L. Oliver, Proud Principal
