Free mobile phone apps available for download on Apple’s App Store and Google’s Play Store.
The first resource is the SaferWatch app. This app, supported by the Broward Sheriff’s Office, allows individuals in Broward County the ability to communicate with law enforcement seamlessly and report potential threats and suspicious activity. Visit https://www.saferwatchapp.com/broward/ for more information about the SaferWatch app.
The second resource for reporting safety and security concerns is the FortifyFL app. FortifyFL allows individuals to instantly report suspicious activity to appropriate law enforcement agencies and school officials. For more information about the FortifyFL app, visit https://www.getfortifyfl.com/.
As a reminder, BCPS also monitors its own anonymous tip line for reporting potential school threats or other school-related safety and security concerns. Parents and students can report tips in a number of ways. They can:
1. Call (754) 321-0911
2. Text SBBC with a tip to 274637 (CRIMES)
3. Email a concern to school911@browardschools.com
4. Submit an electronic tip at https://www.browardschools.com/Anonymous-Tips
Please remember these methods of reporting are NOT a replacement for calling 9-1-1, when there is a crime in progress or an emergency. BCPS encourages parents and students to be vigilant in reporting all suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities, regardless of your preferred method of communication. Working together, we can improve the safety in schools and our community.
