    Our mental, emotional, social, and physical health are closely linked and affect each other. Below you will find curriculum that supports students' lifelong health and wellness, often through social and emotional learning (SEL).     Above the Influence (ATI)

    Grades 1-12

    Everyone’s life has pressure, some of it good, some of it bad. ATI helps students stand up to negative pressures or influences such as drugs and alcohol, bullying, discrimination, and destructive behavior or attitudes. Use the ATI Toolkit's lessons as a stand-alone, or in preparation for the annual ATI March.

    The program is provided at no cost to FL public school teachers, click here to learn more. Lessons educate and empower students with information and strategies to prevent, recognize, and respond appropriately to bullying, cyberbullying, all types of child abuse, digital abuse, and other dangers.

    Online curriculum made up of 65 grade-differentiated lesson plans. The Scope & Sequence consists of 3 units for grade K-2, 3-5, and 6-8, and 4 units for grades 9-12. Each unit has 5 lessons, family activities, and professional development resources. Topics include cyberbullying, privacy, safety, and more.

    Coaching Boys into Men Program

    Grades 9-12

    Designed for coaches to promote respectful behavior among players and help prevent relationship abuse, harassment, and sexual assault.     CATCH (Coordinated Approach to Child Health)

    Grades PreK-12

    CATCH.org employs a holistic approach to child health promotion with multiple curriculums as well as parent and community resources on health and nutrition, physical activity, sun safety, E-cigarette prevention, and programming for children who carry excess weight. View the Flyer to register.

    Engaging digital resources equips students with critical skills for success beyond the classroom. The digital education platform has free lessons, videos, surveys, assessments, and interactive exercises that teach financial capability, character, substance abuse prevention, STEM, health and wellness, social-emotional learning, relationship skills, cultural and civic literacy, as well as career preparedness.

    FL DOE Comprehensive Health Education Mandates

    The State Board of Education Rule 6A-1.094121, F.A.C., requires a minimum of five hours of instruction related to mental and emotional health education  to every student in grades K-12 annually. The content areas to be taught are mental and emotional health, substance use and abuse prevention, internet safety and/or human trafficking, and character education.

    Grades K-12, Adults

    Inner Explorer program is a series of daily 5-10-minute audio-guided mindfulness practices. The program focuses on key areas of development, bringing mindfulness to education and helping students prepare for learning. Daily practice and journaling exercise teaches the practical techniques to appropriately handle negative emotions such as stress, anxiety, anger, trauma and more.     KidsHealth in the Classroom, The Nemours Foundation 

    Grades PreK-12

    Offers educators health-related teacher's guide with discussion questions, classroom lessons, activities, printables, and quizzes. Includes an extensive array of topics such internet safety, bullying, peer pressure, empathy, healthy relationships, emotions and behavioral health, alcohol, tobacco, drugs, body health, infectious diseases, and more.  Available in the department's SharePoint or via website

    Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) 

    Grades K-12

    SEL enables students and adults to recognize and manage emotions, solve problems effectively and establish positive relationships with others. SEL provides direct instruction in skills that enable students to succeed in school and life by being responsible citizens and decision makers. It supports school cultures and climates to allow students to practice life skills throughout their school experience.
