Payment for advanced degrees will be provided if the degree is held in the area of certification shown on the Florida certificate. Please view a listing of the Certification Acceptable Majors. Also acceptable are degrees in Education such as Curriculum and Instruction, Teaching, or Education, etc.

NOTE: If you are an existing contracted teacher with the district and are seeking information and/or the form to request an incentive for additional coursework/in-service completed after your last conferred degree, please follow this link to the correct web page.
Advanced Degrees (in-field)
Effective July 1, 2011, as provided in Florida Statutes, teachers that are new to the District or teachers that are rehired after a break in service may receive pay for advanced degrees provided the degree is held in their area of certification. You are paid for the highest degree earned.
- Master's Degree = $3,650
- Specialist Degree = $6,800
- Doctorate Degree = $8,000
To request payment for an advanced degree, please submit the Request for Advanced Degree Payment form along with an official transcript showing the degree conferral to Talent Acquisition & Operations - Instructional. Instructions are provided on the form.
