• Boyd H. Anderson was built in 1971 and is the home of many influential leaders across the globe. In 2023, The Boyd H. Anderson Foundation was created to provide opportunities for alumnus and friends to train the next generation for success, build school pride, deepen social consciousness, develop real world skills and showcase memorable moments, thus creating a lasting legacy for our community.

        Greetings Cobra Nation, Families and Community Partners! 

        It is with tremendous excitement and an extreme honor that I join Cobra Nation as the newest member of the school’s administrative team, for the 2022-2023 school year! 

        This is my first experience as a High School Assistant Principal and I am eternally grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside Boyd Anderson’s knowledgeable leadership team, under the guidance and support of such a dynamic, visionary, and transformational principal - Mr. James Griffin. As I unite in the school’s vision of ensuring that our students are academically challenged in an environment that is safe and conducive to learning, I remain committed to building collaborative relationships with staff, students, and the community, to positively impact student outcomes. 

        My previous experiences as an Elementary School Assistant Principal; District Master Instructional Coach; Middle School Instructional Coach; Elementary School Literacy Coach; Science Technology Robotics Engineering Art and Math (STREAM) Coordinator; and Elementary School Teacher; have instilled in me a passion for teaching, learning and helping children thrive socially and academically. I am humbled to continue the remarkable work taking place at Boyd Anderson High School, as we accelerate our efforts for the united success of our school. I look forward to meeting everyone and partnering with you all, as we change the trajectory of our scholars, families, and community. 

      • Alumni Spotlight 

         

         

        Tracey Eyers is the Executive Editor of the Race, Equality, and Justice Unit of NBC News and MSNBC. In this role, Tracey works closely with the editorial leads of all platforms to ensure the division's reporting and programming properly reflects the diversity of its audiences and amplifies all voices across the community. The unit also spearheads initiatives on race and culture and is a place for producers to pitch relevant stories. Most recently, the Race, Equality, and Justice Unit, oversaw comprehensive cross-platform coverage of the Tulsa Race Massacre 100 Year Anniversary. In addition, her team planned and advised on extensive coverage around missing people of color, disparities in education, the state of policing in America, climate injustice, and the ongoing fight surrounding land reparations.  

        Previously, Tracey was an Executive Producer at BuzzFeed, where she launched and managed several original shows across the BuzzFeed portfolio including PROFILE by BuzzFeed News, a talk-show with a studio audience. She also served as Executive Producer for a panel-style Twitter show, a Snap Chat show and more. At BuzzFeed, Tracey later joined the development team where she focused on developing innovative content that leveraged the power of internet platforms. In 2019, Tracey launched BuzzFeed's first daily podcast, BuzzFeed Daily, in partnership with iHeart.  

        Prior to joining BuzzFeed, Tracey served as the Executive Producer of Talk Stoop, the long-running celebrity interview show hosted by Nessa Diab, which ran on NBC stations and the daytime schedule of cable's USA Network. In addition, Tracey also simultaneously served as Executive Producer of NBC's original luxury real-estate and design series, Open House. In this role, Tracey managed teams on two coasts, spearheaded sales and editorial partnerships and oversaw international shoots. Additionally, within NBC’s lifestyle division, Tracey split her skillset between broadcast, digital products and live special programming, including NBC's Golden Globe red carpet coverage. Her two decades of experience writing, producing and leading teams to create innovative content has won Tracey four Emmy awards, and multiple Emmy nominations. 

      • Donor Spotlight 

         

         Donnell K. Bowen, D.O., FACS, (LTC, US Army), works at  Houston Methodist Cardiovascular Surgery Associates at Sugar Land and aims to raise $25,000 a year to Boyd H. Anderson High School Scholarship Fund in conjunction with the Broward Education Foundation. This scholarship was established in honor of Maurice Williams and Craig Chambers, who were tragically killed on November 23, 1999 by a wrong-way, drunk driver.  Maurice and Craig were the brothers of Courtney Chambers and close friend to Donnell Bowen, 1998 graduates of Boyd Anderson.  Raised by a loving mother, who stressed education, Courtney and Craig were the first in their family to attend a four-year college or university.  Recognition in the value of education and scholastic achievement is the catalyst for initiating this scholarship, and serves as a way for Courtney, Donnell, many friends and past graduates to give back to their alma mater.
